Nissan: The Facts

You probably know we have a global presence - but did you know our heart is in the UK?

Four vitally important centres are based here:

Nissan Motor (GB) Limited (NMGB) is the sales and marketing company responsible for the distribution of all Nissan products in the UK. The company is based in Maple Cross, Hertfordshire, where it employs approximately 156 staff.

Nissan Technical Centre Europe - this is our centre of excellence for the development of Nissan vehicles.

Nissan Design Europe - based in a Rotunda, our design studio is an award-winning architectural structure in the rapidly developing area of London's Paddington, which has been transformed from a derelict British Rail depot into an ultra-modern, high-tech studio.

Nissan Motor Manufacturing (NMUK) - based in Sunderland. Here we build a staggering 60% of Nissan vehicles sold in the European market.

As well as our design and production centres, we boast over 200 UK dealerships. The people in these dealerships are an essential part of delivering excellence in customer satisfaction; they are our living 'encyclopaedia' on everything Nissan. Every member plays an important part in giving help and advice related to each individual Nissan vehicle, for each individual Nissan customer. They, and potentially you, are our strength in maintaining customer loyalty and satisfaction beyond the showroom.

Did you know ...

  • Using leading-edge thinking from our world class production facility in the Sunderland we are making a real difference to the efficiency of the workshops at our dealer partners. We have reduced the number of footsteps a technician takes from 900 to 300!
  • Having celebrated our 25th year in 2009, Nissan has the largest UK presence of any car manufacturer, accounting for 20% of total UK production.
  • Since 1986 our Sunderland plant has produced more than 4 million vehicles. It's little wonder that we have been ranked the most productive car plant in Europe for seven years running. As you can see, we don't believe in standing still.
